Great for light items, thin & lids aren't tight but great value for what they are
I'm giving these a 5 star rating which is actually a 5 star rating with the caveat that you need to realize that you get what you pay for - - - these are fantastic if you only store light weight items in them, don't need a tight fitting lid, and don't need to move or carry them around from room to room. They are great for storage but I definitely would not recommend for toys or supplies that kids would be reaching for daily. If I had my kids' Lego's or art markers in them and my kids were pulling these bins off the shelf daily, the Lego's and markers would probably spend more time scattered on the floor than they would contained in the bins. These bins and lids are just not secure or sturdy enough to contend with anything other than careful handling. After a major renovation of our kitchen, pantry and laundry room, I was on a major re-organizing binge.I ordered 2 sets of these bins, and also ordered two sets of the identical, but tad smaller 6qt (12.9" deep) bins (also by IRIS).They are almost the same size (the 7qt are just about an inch longer) and they stack on each other well.I needed both sizes because not all of my cabinets are 14" deep. The 7qt bins are 13.75" deep and for 14" cabinets, they are perfect. If you have the cabinet depth, the 7qt makes more efficient use of every inch.Think about what you need these for, realize these are lightweight storage before ordering and you will be happy with them. These are very thin and flexible and tho the lids do sort of click on, as soon as you pick up or handle the bin, the Iid pops right off.I was previously using empty salad mix clamshell bins for storage and would double them up to give them more strength. One of these IRIS bins has about the same rigidity of a doubled clamshell bin.I'm using these in my pantry and laundry room to hold things like tea bags, coffee filters, sponges, plastic utensils, napkins, band aids/gauze squares. They're absolutely great for these kinds of items. I can reach for a bin with one hand, pull it out and not need to support the weight of it with my other hand.If heavier items were stored in these bins, you'd need to definitely use two hands rather than just grasp a side or end. They fact that they're thin also makes them great for using as drawer organizers bc they efficiently sit side by side without handles or thick rims taking up space. I'm using them without lids to corral Rubbermaid food storage lids, immersion blender and mixer/food processor attachments. In my experience so far, every order I've received came with cracked bins and/or lids. Outer shipping boxes were fine, but it seems that shipping damage is to be expected because they just aren't packed very well. The items are nicely nested in the packing box however there is no padding or protection around or between them. They are packed in 2 stacks side by side and all the cracks were on the inside corners where the two stacks butted up against each other. A simple sheet of foam between the two stacks may have prevented this damage.Of course Amazon was amazing in letting me return the one set, but that also meant I needed to order a replacement. For some reason, I was only given the option to return . . . not return and replace. I had to place a new order and (dang it) the price had gone up from my original Black Friday sale price.Overall, very happy with these. Know what to expect and you will be too.

Lids won’t latch or stay on. Box is wimpy.
The handle edges of the lids have about a half millimeter of ledge to grip onto the box. It’s not enough to catch. So you end up pounding on each end of the lid hoping they’ll grab. Lids pop off and stuff falls out because they’re too cheap to go back to a working catch for the lids. Bad lockability.Plus the plastic structure of the box isn’t rigid anymore, it’s like they only sent half the material into the mold so the whole box is super flexible. This brand used to be solid. Now it’s a feeble knock-off of its former self.

Great shape and value
These are a wonderful size for storage and organizing. I use them for different craft storage bins. They stack nicely and you can see what is inside which is helpful. I also like that they come straight down basically so things sit better and the space is better used as opposed to a slanted side. Would purchase again.

C'mon, Iris, get back to making the "latching" lid for the 6 qt clear bin actually latch again!!!
I've been buying specific sizes of Iris clear plastic bins for years since I first stumbled upon them on Amazon in 2016. My favorite, go-to bins were the 6 and 13.5 qt sizes. I have noticed over the years an apparent decrease in the thickness of the plastic material used to make the bins. Nevertheless, I was willing to keep buying the bins because Iris' were among the very few that were essentially the same dimensions at the bottom as at the top (many taper towards the bottom and make it impossible to fit bulky shoes/boots in them), had almost squared off corners, stacked well enough on top of each other, AND had lids that had latch-shaped edges (instead of a big, bulging latch) that were small and integrated into the underside of the lid edges. But best of all the lids latched closed AND STAYED THAT WAY until I unlatched them. (Iris' lids made a distinctive latching sound when the lid engaged the underside of the rim of the bin). I could stuff the 6 qt size with a pair of bulky, thick-soled, size 9 women's Uggs-type suede/fur lined ankle boots and the bin would bulge at the top and sides but still keep the lid latched closed; no popping off. Not anymore. And this has been an issue for at least over a year. The batch of 6 qt "latching" bins that I just purchased have lids that just barely manage to latch closed (none of that distinctive latching sound with these bins!), and any movement effectively pops the latch and releases the lid. And it's not as if the price has gone down to adjust for the inferior latching ability. This used to be my go-to, 5 star (6, if I could rate that highly) clear latching bin. Now its among the just ok, thin, sometimes cracking in the corners, but still same top and bottom dimensioned lidded, bins. At best 3 stars.I've seen comments from other reviewers about the thinness and latching issues. I'd be willing to put up with the thinness IF ONLY IRIS WOULD BRING BACK ITS OLD, SUPERIOR LATCHING LID. Please, Iris, don't your loyal customers deserve at least that?

Very cheaply made
I am giving these a 4 star only because you get so many for the price and you know they are an off brand to begin with. The problem with getting so many for the price is that they are so very cheaply made which is reasonable but you can get a few just a few dollars under this price same brand or you can get 12 for like 2$ more. And I through ok great I’ll just use the others for something else from the original purpose that I bought them for. But no.They are very thin plastic and a type of plastic that cracks very easily. They may as well not have given any lids with them because they do not attach in anyway shape or form on their own. You could probably tape them on but it’ll probably slide off due to not fitting very well. But for the project that I’m using them for since I don’t need lids and very fragile use they are fine. Just don’t expect them to come anywhere near close to a sterlite container cuz you will be very disappointed.
