Osmo 006 Bangkirai Decking & Furniture Oil Wood Oil. Protects, Maintains & Beautifies. 2.5 Litres

Having used Osmo's oil product for interior use and being very satisfied with the results I had no hesitation in buying the Bangkirai Furniture Oil to renovate and protect my outdoor bench and table. After 3 coats the furniture looks like new and I am delighted with the finish. Of course, time will tell if the furniture stands up to weathering but I am optimistic. I have previously used stain then yacht varnish on other wooden outdoor furniture but realise it was a mistake and trying to remove the varnish which was flaking in places was a nightmare. This product is not cheap but it works a treat.

Its one of the best oil for hardwood on the market.The main thing to remember, use brush, doesn't have to be OSMO one, can be any soft brush and never ever use the sponge type applicator and whats THE MOST important, apply thin layer, let it dry and eventually then apply another thin layer.NEVER EVER be lazy and apply a thick layer as you will end up like the guy called Ryan below in the reviews.But if you do, which I did years ago too, there's a solution which works wonders and will completely remove the oil bringing back the original decking state.I'm posting the instructions here in case someone need them,To remove the entire oil, first use Owatrol Aquanett as per instructions on the tin (note: coverage calculator is wrong on their website) , then use Owatrol Net-Trol as per instructions, the last step is to use pressure washer to remove the old oil. You will be surprised how easy the oil is getting removed! Wait till the decking is dry and clean, and apply the new layer of oil.This is my Balau (Bangkirai) decking.

Easy to apply and went a long long way looks great

Easy to apply by brush and the Osmo deck brush is excellent. Appears to soak in quite well and gives a nice colour, very close to original colour of the wood when first installed, perhaps could have gone a little darker, will have to see how long it lasts as typically on the yellow balau hardwood deck, oils haven't held up well and clear oils did not restore the original colour hence tried the stain. Product is expensive so hopefully paid for quality. First coat coverage was low but 2nd coat was better. I would recommend getting the samples and test so you are happy with the stain.

Really brings the best out of the wood

Good product which works well on Yellow Balau, however, if you like the natural look of the hard wood, don’t use this product as it stains the wood and it looks like composite decking once done, choose the clear variant for a nicer natural finish. The protective properties are fantastic though.
