I used the microwave method but it did not come out right. Then I followed Shanden GY‘s method under the 5 star review. Best boba ever.

WORKED SOO WELL!!

Advice for cooking to make them chewy- Add them after water is boiling, then stir until they float to the top. Add lid & cook for 10 minutes on medium heat (while stirring about every 2 minutes). Then turn off heat & let sit (with lid on) for another 5 minutes. Then strain & put in cold/cool water for like 20 seconds. That's how I've been doing it & its very delicious! Honestly, they can be more chewy & good than stuff you'd find in a shop (in NM, US anyway...).

We wasted two servings trying the microwave method before smarting up and following the longer boiling method. Microwaving is too finicky—the texture was not right at all. However, once we followed the stovetop directions exactly as written, these turned out how you would expect from a Boba shop—the texture was perfect!These are labor intensive. I thought my kids could make these on their own using the microwave method, but it turned out to be a labor of love using the stovetop. Just know what you’re getting yourself into!

Super easy to make and tastes amazing! I reccomend making some brown sugar syrup for them. (Brown sugar, vanilla extract, water, on stover top until warm)

This boba is amazing!! It’s just like if you buy it from a bubble tea shop. I would definitely recommend buying brown sugar to go with it as well. This is yummy and delicious. It was also very fun and easy for my daughter to make!

Easy instructions, taste great, perfect tapioca pearls as a whole.

These bobas tasted fine but they were too big for the boba straws I own so won’t be able to get them again…
