Computer Networking: A Top-Down Approach, 6Th Edn

This book arrived much quicker than I expected, especially considering how far it had to travel to get here (It arrived faster than other items I have previously ordered that shipped from much much closer). The books spine was damaged a bit when it got here, however, I kind of expected it to get beat up a bit considering how far it had to come. Also, I don't blame them at all for this. It's just one of those gambles you take because it goes from different shipping locations where it gets tossed around and sorted. I'm just happy they have such great shipping and I was able to save a ton of money on this school book by ordering through them. :)

thin book is very unique, top down approach with more emphasize on topper layer make it a good choice for programmer and/or engineers who deal with top layers. if you work in a telecom company or you are a developer in this field this is the right book for you.

Musch of the content is not in the book itself, but on the companion website. Which is accessible for six months after your first access.This means that a second hand copy is a very bad idea.

The author does an amazing job of explaining the network layers in a top down fashion. Plenty of good examples in the book.

The actual textbook is excellent and was very useful for the netwoking class I took. The printing on the book is kinda bad though. It has rough, somewhat hard to see black and white printing instead of the clean color print of other versions.

Possibly the best book on computer networking I've ever got my hands on. The top-down approach in addition to the great examples and graphics make things so much easier to understand. Also the fact that the authors justify most of the decisions taken in building the Internet really makes you feel a part of the process.
