Synology - DDR3L - module - 4 GB - SO-DIMM 204-pin - 1866 MHz / PC3L-14900-1.35 V - unbuffered - non-ECC - for Disk Station DS718+

Worked fine but had to return it as I had to return the entire original order consisting of a DS718+, hard drives and this ram upgrade card.Having checked around afterwards there were several other cards of similar size and spec from other well established brands at virtually half the price so it looks like Synology are trying to milk/blackmail the customer in exchange for their warranty. Not great, but the card itself was easy to install, was recognised straight away (it’s plug n’ play) and worked perfectly.

Was going to get a third party module as they are much cheaper but saw a warning on a memory sellers website and did some further research which appeared to indicate some issues with 3rd party modules. Very expensive given the low price of memory but it worked first time and has speeded up NAS when multiple users are on at same time.

Customer service is excellent and delivery was on time.Can connect to it from anywhere in the world and see your files, play your music Videos etc. Easy to connect up to All home devices, Phones Laptops TV etc..Synology has some great apps. Clouds are OK but if you want more security, then this is the answer.

I recently purchased a Synology DS918+ to replace my 5 year old Synology which was starting to show its age. One of the things that really interested me about the DS918+ was the ability to use Docker and Virtual Machines. The DS918+ only comes with 4GB of RAM installed which limits the possibilities with Docker and Virtual Machines.Initially I purchased a Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3L kit to upgrade the DS918+ (following several guides online) but within a few hours the NAS shutdown and restarted unexpectedly and rebooted itself again a few hours later. Unfortunately 3rd party memory kits are not supported at all by Synology and they only recommend 8GB (2 x 4GB) of their RAM on the DS918+. Random reboots risk losing data so I gave up and put the original RAM back in.I decided to bite the bullet and buy the additional 4G of Synology D3NS1866L-4G RAM. The RAM is very well presented and not only comes in the regular plastic shell but also a Synology branded box. I installed the module alongside the original in my DS918+ a few days back and it's been running perfectly since (no random shutdowns etc.). Unfortunately you are paying a massive premium for this RAM and the single 4GB stick is nearly as much as a 16GB Crucial kit but it works perfectly and Synology will honour the waranty etc.Pros:- Works perfectly in DS918+- Easy to fit- Well presentedCons:- Really expensive

Used with Synology DS218+. Arrived promptly in original packaging and installation was simple.

Worked well with no problems. It is double the price of the equivalent Crucial part but at least it is fully supported if I get any issues. Really useful to have the extra RAM since I am running a VM and a bunch of Docker apps.

Bought this for my Synology DS718+. Arrived well packaged. Powered down the NAS. Removed the two hard drive bays and inserted the memory within seconds. Replaced hard drives and powered back on. Checked the information from the control panel and it was immediately recognized. Taking the memory from 2GB to 6GM. Not sure whether it really needed it, but as I was wishing to use a few of the Apps on the NAS thought I would err on the side of caution.

Appears to be exactly the same as any other ram at this spec and half the price but with a Synology label on it. Refusing to honour the warranty if you don't use their own a ram is a real shame.
