Easy to set up, great shade, does well in the wind!
07/2024 - Updating after another season and 2 solid weeks of use - TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY. This sucker is fantastic. We have put it through the wringer over the past two weeks, up and down every day, on the beach for hours with decent winds every day. It sets up in less than 5 minutes and stays up for as long as you want it to.Pro tips:- lay it out flat and stretch the corners as far as you can before digging a hole for each pocket. Fill the pockets with sand and bury each pocket in the hole you dug for it. The pockets can hold so much sand - fill them as much as you can. The more you fill and the deeper you bury them, the more wind it can withstand.- once the corners are filled and buried, place the poles about 6 inches in from the corners of the top and stand those suckers up.- if you don’t want as much profile, you can get away with 2-3 poles in the front, setting the whole thing up like a lean-to.- secure the poles with the elastic ties and you’re golden.Update! I called customer service today and they returned my call within 10 mins. They ordered 2 replacement poles for me and expedited shipping so I will have the poles in 48 hours. Perfect customer service!Hi! I’ve been on the beach this week and we brought my Sun Ninja beach tent. Here’s my honest review:So easy! Just stretch the tent out flat on the sand, pulling the 4 corner pouches out super far. Dig holes for each pouch and start filling the pouches with the sand. Make sure the pouch is filled to the brim and snug down in that hole, then cover the pouch with even more sand so it’s buried in that hole. Then place the poles about a foot in from the corner seams, rubber ball up, and stake them down in the sand. You can use 2 poles to do like a lean-to, or 4 to give you more room. Put the elastic bungees on top so they attach the tent fabric to the rubber ball and pull tight. You’re done! When all the parts work, it’s amazing!Pros:✅ the XL is huge and shady and has room for 4 comfortably, but you could easily fit like 8-10 people under the shade in a pinch✅ when all the parts are working, you can have it up in 5 mins or less✅ when you have it up and staked right, it can withstand a lot of wind, not just breeze✅ comes with a great carry bag and small shovel to fill the pouchesCon - just one:❌ we’ve had 2 faulty poles that get stuck and won’t quite fit all the sections together snugly - I’m going to contact Sun Ninja and will update this review with their response

BEST MOST CONVENIENT SHADE FOR THR BEACH
This Sun Ninja is literally a God Send. It is incredibly easy to set up, pack down into a small storage bag (which is thick and high quality.) it comes with extra of everything you need such as bungee ties. As long as you put enough sand in the corners (with the provided shovel!) there is no issue of it blowing away as with an umbrella. The sun protection is legit. The shade it provides is enough (with this size) for three chairs and a full size sheet. If you have more than three chairs, I would suggest getting the bigger size. It is comfortable to carry and lightweight. I see many summers of use ahead of us. Highly recommended. Will update if anything changes.

10/10 Recommend!
10/10 recommend! Incredibly easy to put up, extremely light and was not a burden to lug back and forth to the beach. Withstood the wind at the beach all day. Great sun protection for adults and littles. Provided ample shade and kept us cool and didn’t get sun burnt. Good quality and looks great!!

Creates shade, but it's still hot.
Things I like:1. The footprint is giant so you have a lot of space around you.2. Easy to set up.3. Light to carry4. My partner and I can lay together on a blanket without a pole between us.Things I don't like:1. You can still get burned under this thing and it is hot. The material does not block out all of the Sun. Definitely hotter than under an umbrella.2. I live in a really windy area and it doesn't hold up so well in high winds.3. Doesn't work in the rain.I'm glad I bought it. We bring it to the beach all the time, but sometimes it is not the perfect option. I do wish it was a little less hot under the shade of the material.

Great in wind and gives loads of shade
UPDATE:This is still the best beach purchase we've made in years. It has been set up and taken down more times than I can count and it still does well in all conditions, including high winds. The review who complained of sand getting in the poles and making them difficult to use: that's on the owner. Not difficult to simply pull the sections apart and empty sand as you go and give them a quick wipe with a towel or your hand, and don't lay the poles down, just hold them as you remove them and break them down.FILL THOSE BAGS! Can't say it enough. And instead of folding it up to bag it, just start stuffing it into the bag as you go and it will fit perfectly. The bag has two sections: one for the poles and one for the tent. We expect to get several hundred more trips out of this tent and we've already used it extensively since 2022 (we live in a beach town).ORIGINAL REVIEW:I was super hesitant about this purchase after watching multiple folks on Delaware beaches struggle to keep this up, but a trusted friend told me it's not a big deal and not difficult to master, so I bought it in the largest size with 4 poles. We could not be happier! This held up in strong Atlantic winds on Martha's Vineyard (30mph). It takes no time to put up, maybe like 5-6 minutes and can be done by one person, though two is obviously quicker. Some tips for wind other reviewers have mentioned:-FILL the corner bags until sand is falling out, then put them in the holes the sand came from and bury them. Fill them beyond what you think is 'full'.-Have the fabric as taut as possible from pole-to-pole.-Make sure poles are at 90 degrees, not angling inward or outward.-Pull the corners as far as you can.-Roll each 'arm' up before putting the whole thing in the bag to prevent tangling (ours has never tangled).-The scoop is small, use a bucket. We have used this with both 4 poles and 2 poles as a lean-to and it works equally well either way. This provided shade for 7 adults in chairs and a bunch of babies on blankets in varying conditions.
