a definite item to have in your backpack
This is one of the items that is quite essential when visiting the Everest base camp. It is best to be prepared for the worst than not having one. It could be quite slippery to walk on the snow as the weather is quite unpredictable. This is quite effective when walking on the snow. This was at a lower price when I bought so definitely value for money and to have in your carry on backpack when trekking.

Lifesaving when icy
These things are absolutely lifesaving when it is icy. You stick to the ice like glue. Easy to fit and remove quickly when you are out.Their only problem is the studs break easily if you wear them on non-icy concrete or tarmac.I always have a pair in my bag when I am out in possibly icy conditions.

They are a Lifesaver. Not for Serious Hill Walking Though
I was nearly put off by the negative reviews, ignore them. I walk my dog 6 -10 miles a day and found the recent icy conditions treacherous. Put them on over my walking boots (do make sure you get the correct size) and was amazed at how confidently I could walk without worrying about slipping and falling (I’m 75 so it matters). I have walked over 50 miles in the last 6 days using them on compacted snow and ice and they have performed faultlessly, no lost or broken pegs. Today the thaw started in earnest but even in the most slippery conditions I felt confident; the downside, parts of my walks are on tarmac and where the ice had melted they had a hard time on the unforgiving surface, sure enough when I got home one peg was missing and another broken. They come with 10 spare pegs and I bought another 40, take seconds to replace, what’s the problem? They fitted my size 11’s perfectly, I was going to give 4 stars because of the peg issue, but at the price 5 stars.

Not bad for the price

Absolute life saver on pavements of packed ice.
These are so easy to put on and remove. I'd prefer the rear studs nearer the heel, but they're still very effective.I pulled a stud out on my 1st time, but that was as brutal as it could get for city walking, on really rough, uneven ice, snow, grass, and more tarmac that I wanted. Definitely recommended.

Finally not slipping anymore
These grippers are great. Don’t understand the negative reviews. Maybe people are walking on concrete or something hence the grips falling off. I’ve used mine several times and still haven’t lost any. I only use them on ice though so maybe that’s why. I used to slip all the time, almost every time a foot went down I’d slip and nearly fall. Since wearing these, I can walk fast and never ever slip at all so really happy I bought them. Definitely worth the price. I bought medium and wear size 6UK and they go around my shoes, trainers or boots perfectly

Not impressed
As good as it sounds and the idea of pulling it on as a sick is great.Buts are:1.as starined the whole flexible body of the grips is twisting on the shoe /boot and getting of the position2.even with extra Spikes I got (reason for them included) they were all gone after using 3 times. Not good for relying on and not good for nature. As cheapnas they came I will pay more next time for full metal grips.

Works well but not durable at all
Firstly, these things grip very well on anything, thin ice/frost over pavements, slush, full-on ice/snow.Now, while I can see these lasting while walking on snow or thick ice, on the pavement, these will not last not much than a few trips. I probably walked 2km and I lost 2 studs and the plastic is all damaged at the bottom. For the amount I need to use these each year, I can probably buy one for the year, but if I were doing anything more than that I would have to look for a better option.
