I have no more maggots! For two months, I’ve been washing out my trash can because of the hundreds of maggots that would appear between weekly trash pickups. Maybe it’s the especially wet and hot summer we’ve had, but my trash can was overrun by flies and maggots. I would hose it out on trash day and be back to flying bugs within a day or two. I bought this product and have been thrilled with the results. Since everyone said the sticky pads don’t work, I used cable ties to hang it on the inside hinge of my trashcan. It took a day or two for the bugs to go away, but they did and have not returned. I can’t tell you how long it will last, but I’m a couple weeks in and relieved that my trash can is staying bug free.

Update... I had originally given this 5⭐ but after just about 1 months need to lower my rating. These are supposed to last 3-4 months but just after 1 month theounting tape has failed and both of them have fallen off and ended in the trash truck!I will order more and give it another go as they did work well while they were attached . Until the company comes up with a better way of attaching them to the trash can plan on getting repeat delivery and replacing everyonth.These are amazing!I get so grossed out when I take out the trash and it is swarming with flies and covered in maggots! I always feel so bad for the trash collectors that have to deal with it.I purchased these and immediately stuck them inside the lids of my trash cans. Within 2 days there were dead flies on the bottom of the can! This little tiny thing killed all of them!I will definitely buy more for my other can! The can that didn't have it was full of flies and maggots but not the cans with it. It did make a huge difference.There is no smell, it is easy to install, sticks well and is very effective,(Says it lasts 3 months so I will be watching and update my review if it does not.)

We live on the Gulf Coast and summertime it's Insect Central. To get to our trash can we had to fight through a cloud of houseflies and deal with gross maggots in spite of weekly cleanings with detergent and bleach. The Terro T800 has been a particularly effective solution. For the first few days I thought it was a waste of $$, but when we inspected the can after our weekly pickup, we saw lots of dead flies and no maggots. We have had far fewer flies in the house as well. I can highly recommend the Terro T800 with confidence. It has a 4 month life expectancy and ours has been in place for at least 2 months with the same rate of effectiveness. One caveat - and it's not enough to reduce my rating to 4 stars - the Terro T800 is designed to stick to the inside of the trash can lid. I would not rely on that because mechanized trash trucks are so rough on the cans and the unit would probably get knocked off and lost. My husband drilled 2 small holes in the lid and affixed the unit securely with some thin wire. So far so good. Quite happy with this product.

These things seem to work quite well. The only gripe I have is that the adhesive is not strong enough. They usually get knocked off by the sanitation workers after 4-5 emptying of the can. Getting expensive. I'm going to try a different two-sided tape

This is life changing. For my trash can and my trash company guys who do the dirty work. Maggots were literally crawling out of my can in this summer heat. Disgusting. Threw boiling water in the can to quickly kill all living maggots. Pressure washed the nasty out of my can, used a brush to scrub and bleach. She was clean enough to jump in. Dried her out. Then lined the bottom with baking soda and some citronella oil. And placed this bad boy on the inside of the lid. It’s bug free! It’s been 2 weeks. And no bugs! My recycle, has gnats in it. I do have baking soda and citronella oil in that bin as well. Just not this deterrent. So ordering another and going to clean her out as well before I place it inside. These are a must now for summer heat and infestation prevention.

Pricey for a single but in regards to outdoor trash cans, the best! IT WORKS! I keep one inside of our outdoor kitchen trash can. Kills flies that get in there and keeps maggots from hatching. If you decide to place inside your City trash cans, I would recommend using a heavy duty sealant/glue. Lasts 4 months!! Totally worth it!!

I put this in my 95 gallon trash can to eliminate maggot infestation seen the prior week. Our town just switched to these cans. I also purchased a cover that goes over can lid. After 4 days of high heat and a full can of trash, no maggots and dead flies found in bottom of can!!The only down side as others noted, with the high heat, no matter what 2 way adhesive (3M) i use, it just melts away (90 degrees in northeast) and it falls into can.I have run a zip tie through can lid and it now holds firmly in place. 4 stars for this reason.
