An Aural Delight ...... Give 'Em A Go!!!!!
My Hi-Fi journey began in the 70's with the building of a giant set of Goodman's speakers, accompanied on the way with many varied amps, decks, receivers, headsets etc, and arriving today, at the age of 77, with my latest music listening iteration, an Audiolab Omnia 'all in one' paired with this glorious Focal Elegia headphone set. Sevenoaks Sound & Vision On-Line sold them at around 1/3rd of the original £1k RRP and delivered them, free by DPD, in a shade less than 19 hours!!!!! Amazing service, for sure. These 'cans' deal admirably with my eclectic musical tastes, which I often refer to as 'anything from Montserrat Caballé to Motorhead', with The Blues, Jimi Hendrix and The Who featuring as my 'top three'. The Elegia is by far the best sound quality headphone I've enjoyed from the many that have covered my ears over the past half a century. Whilst I'm no technical expert, I do know what I like in terms of sound reproduction, and these reproduce the full spectrum of my musical tastes perfectly ....... I LUV 'EM.

Wow
These have the best sound I've ever heard, I can't listen to my own mp3 files as once you try flac or hi rez music it completely blows your mind. The bass is good the midi and trebles are brilliant. I've had to buy a dac which allows me to use my phone as the dap player and keeps the sound to the best sound possible. I can see why audiophiles spend thousands on their systems, commercial headphone are blown away by these. These are expensive but they made me fall in love with music again which is worth the money.

They are the best for the price
First of all, I got these from SSAV, however it’s worth the reviewing them here for others, I have mine paired with a ProJect DAC and a Little Dot MK II Valve amp, and the sound is amazing compared to my Sony or my Audio Technica studio headphones, only my KEF come close. The top, mid and bass are just right (For me) and the sound stage is round and pleasant, for the price they are a snap. If you want to join the Headphone audio game these are a good starting point. The headband has just the right pressure and are not uncomfortable over a long period of time. As for build quality, well it’s refined , sturdy and balanced. The case and box are super aut couture, but then what you expect from the French!!!!

Quality headphones
I have owned a pair of focal elear headphones about 2 years ago. Focal make great quality headphones. I bought the focal Elegia for out door use for work, out and about. The build quality is great much like the focal elear. You do get an excellent case to store them in. Which I did not get with the elear. These are very comfortable headphones to wear. They don’t slip off or move around if you bend down. As they have a cushion ear piece you can wear for long periods. Closed back headphones are never going to sound as good as open back headphones. So the elear, and the other open back focal will sound better. I was using a pair of inner ear headphones before these. Audeze isine 10 for about 2 years, good sound just got uncomfortable after long listening. But the focal Elegia way better. The only other better headphones closed back are the Sennheiser hd820 but they are £2000. You pay for what you get mostly in the audio world. These are second best to these. I own a Astell and kern ak 300. These headphones sound amazing. I have plugged the Astell and kern into a Hugo 2 dac, they really make these headphones shine. I have a naim v1 dac again will get the best out of them. The amazing thing about these headphones you can even play them on an I phone. I have I phone Xs max, play tidal hi fi. Very good indeed. Not as good as high res player, but impressive. I listen to sound cloud pod cast, which is in mp3 format. Even that sounds better than expected. The cable is not to long, and the headphones are not to large for out door wearing. Give them a try but make sure you run the headphones in for a couple of days to open them up a bit. They improve in sound quality the more hours you use the for.

I did not enjoy their sound
The build quality and comfort were great but I really did not enjoy their sound. It was very mid forward and lacked in everything else IMO. I own DT770 Pro and Hifiman Sundara and Ananda which I absolutely love. I sent these back. Maybe my pair were faulty.
