Very happy with chips. Not exactly casino quality but definitely an upgrade over the skinny blue, red, and white plastic chips I grew up with. For a home set, I wouldn't want anything heavier as we travel with them. The case, fully loaded, is pretty heavy ... about the same weight as my horseshoe kit. This set is plenty sufficient for home use. The case itself is decent ... three latches. I've seen lots of criticism about casino chip cases. This one is pretty good for the price. Chips not perfect ... there is a tiny hard spot on each chip face ... presumably from the mold injection spot. Bothered me at first but didn't notice it after some use. I'm sure a razor blade would take care of it if it continued to bother me. Also, after some use we have a couple of chips with some missing chunks out of the chips. I think those are an anomaly. One major criticism ... the two decks of cards are completely worthless. I have never seen cheaper cards. I immediately tossed them.

After unboxing and opening the chips and cards this is what I have to say.Pros-I can play poker with my friends now.The case feels sturdy when closed, the chips are secure but I can hear a slight wobble inside. There are plenty of chips and I don’t get any bad smells like some say.The inside liner is well intact and fits great. And the foam topper on the inside of the lid holds the chips in place.Cons-The cards are cheap decks, and the poker buttons are all scuffed up. Playable, but not as professional coming from the retailer as what almost seems like a set of used chips.Nothing about the actual chips are special, but that’s what I ordered. So no fault there.The case itself can’t stand up on its side, so I must lay it down flat, and the lid doesn’t seem to close exactly flush, so closing the hinges alone won’t lock it. You must make sure they are shut or I’m going to have a loud mess to pickup.Delt a few practice rounds solo- playing all 5 hands and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.Purchasing for myself as a beginner who wants to be able to play at my place and not just friends, this is perfect. If I however was stocking a poker room or having buddies over weakly and wanted something nicer this would not be it.As a gift, this could be a great option. Only if they too are a beginner. I’d imagine anyone with more hands under their belt would probably want a nicer set for their games.

My wife informed me that she read some reviews, saying that the case (at least internally) was of poor quality. I must say that in our case, it certainly is not, so now I wonder if other buys received the product damaged in shipping. I do not know but ours at least, looked beautiful inside, from the internal formed chip holders, to the egg-carton foam topper - it was all in perfect condition. The aluminum case itself is very sturdy, not unlike some of my hand-gun cases, and that is saying a lot, as this set is quite heavy and had to endure shipping, yet arrived in immaculate condition. The quality and weight of the chips is fantastic as well. Overall, I personally, could not be more pleased with this set, especially at this price point. As far as I'm concerned, I am glad to recommend it to others. I'm looking forward to much family fun with this set, along with out full-sized table-top Poker mat. Can't wait. Enjoy!
