Finally a great skimmer PLUS an automatic water level attachment!!! Where I live in NC the evaporation in the summer is terrible!!! I honestly thought a few years ago I had a leak in the liner of my pool. But the local pool supply told me to take a bucket fill about half to three quarters full. Leave it for a day or two. Then see how much water evaporated. And WOW!!! It was crazy. It had lost a third of the water in 2 full days. So yes, keeping the water level maintained without doing it everyday manually was a great idea!!!! I had used a float device i had got for an animal watering bucket (float goes down as they drink it. When it does it opens a valve up, fills the bowl up, and closes off the water valve when its full) but funding a way to mount it and all was a pain. This is great!! Only suggestion I have is, make it so a hose pipe will screw straight on the water level side. I have to go find special fittings to finish hooking mine up to my hose pipe, I assumed a standard hose would hook up. That's the only complaint

This replaced my cheapo skimmer that came with my pool. It was awful and after 2 seasons it cracked. This replacement is good quality, easy to install and looks nice. Instructions were clear and included everything needed to install the skimmer.

I can’t put my finger on it, but the skimmer seems better more functional than the original. I find a larger amount of debris caught in an initial screen. Durable fit well nice hardware very good price.

I was a little scared of cutting a hole in my pool like most. I did install it when the pool was full. If you install it when it's full use an ice pic to make the holes for the screws. Start by separating the two gaskets. Put one gasket on the inside frame and line it up on the inside of the pool where ever you wish so long as there will be water flow into the skimmer. I pushed the ice pic from the inside out. Please make sure YOU are not near the end of the pic or anyone else when piercing the pool. Install a screw so that you can move to the next corner making sure that the frame is level. Continue till all screws are installed. Once you have the frame screwed to the pool ,bring the skimmer to the outside of the pool. Back the screws out about half way. Match the the skimmer holes with the screws and start screwing them in loosely all the way around and the final tighten all the way around. Be careful as to not over tighten them and break the frame. There are two gaskets that will seal the water. Once you have completed the skimmer install, pipe up your skimmer back to to the pump. I used a 2" X 1 1/2" rubber coupling available at your choice of hardware store. You will need a valve to be able to work on the pump or remove for maintenance. Nows the time cut out that square you've been dreading to do. If it is leaking a little just tighten up around the frame until it stops. Periodically check to make sure all connection are tight. This our 2nd skimmer we’re installing we got our 1st one a year ago and still working great just our pool is 24’ long and this 2nd one will help keep the pool cleaner

If I HAVE to find one gripe about this product, it would be that the gaskets are a bit hard to line up during installation. I had the bottom side of the outside gasket not seat properly and cause a leak. However, I easily fixed it by loosening the screws and lining it up again. No leaks since!Otherwise, this is a great product. I have an 18’x4’ Bestway vinyl pool. The liner cut like butter for installation and the hose that came with my pump fit right onto the outlet that screws into the bottom of the skimmer. I went several days without manually skimming my pool before installing. It’s been running now for almost two days and as of this morning, there are literally only two small flecks sitting on the surface of the water.Before this I tried one of the smaller coffee-can style “skimmers” that attaches to the top rail of the pool. It worked OK for catching bigger things that floated right over it. Smaller bugs and things did not stay captured in the skimmer, not to mention, when you pushed the floater down to empty the bucket, all of the bugs sitting inside would pop out and go right back into the water anyway. Lastly, during my son’s birthday party we had enough people in the pool that the movement caused the clamp to detach from the top rail of the pool which rendered it useless.TLDR: highly recommend, make sure the gaskets are lined up properly during installation, don’t waste your time with the cylindrical skimmers that attach to the top rail of the pool.

Spent the day installing the skimmer & return. Topped off my pool only to discover constant leaks!! I have tightened the screws as much as I can without breaking the plastic. I’ve removed and readjusted the gasket to make sure that wasn’t the problem. Retightened, used screws from my old skimmer since these screws are cheap and strip easily. Still leaking!!! The return is leaking too. The filter basket has such wide holes that debris and bugs suck right through to my filters internal basket. Doesn’t have the added screening that most baskets have. Obviously very cheap! This should have been the easiest part of my new liner install. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Should have just used my old skimmer and return since they still worked.
