There's a lot of plastic but the tricycle looks durable enough for my two year old granddaughter. Assembly was not difficult, but it did consume a little more than thirty minutes. The big "plus" on this tricycle is the push handle. I can comfortably keep the tricycle safely upright while walking on the side of its rider. The height of the push handle is very comfortable for me (5'10").

I grabbed this for my daughter, and we're pretty happy with it. Building it was a quick endeavor. It's pretty cute, and I really appreciate the changeable modes so we can push her until she is ready to pedal herself, or we can take over in the event that she's too tired to pedal the rest of the way. Modes change quickly and easily, which is a definite plus. Everything seems sturdy enough for the task at hand, which of course was my primary worry since this will be holding very precious cargo.Overall, I'm happy to recommend it.
