Great quality knives and lovely block
This is my second set of Richardson Sheffield knives. My last set have lasted 10 years but my knife block was looking very old and tatty so I wanted to treat myself to a nice new set and waited for this set to drop in price. These Japanese inspired knives are fantastic and complement the knives I already had well. Super sharp and cut with ease (I've had to warn everyone in the house to use them with care as they are so sharp). Dicing things like onions superfine will no longer be a problem with these knives. There is no very small utility/paring knife in the set and so this is something that you should bear in mind if you are buying and don't already have one. The knife block is nice and heavy in a lovely oak finish. It looks great on the kitchen work top. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended
Fantastic set. Having honeymooned in Japan and both being born in Sheffield, this was a perfect anniversary gift for my husband. The combination of knives with the scissors is a fantastic selection. I really would recommend them.

Great starter set for the experienced or novice cook.
Great starter set for the young couple in their first home. The fact that it has a nakiri knife alone is a good multi purpose knife.

You chop faster with a knife
Ergonomically shaped handles and great profile on the santoku make this a pleasure to finely julienne carrots and cucumbers. The block and knife bundle is cheaper than the sum of its parts which make it reasonably good value, especially if you use the whole range. I only needed the Santoku and sashimi knives, but worked out cheaper to get the whole bundle if you don't have a spare knife block.I've got a Richardson Sheffield serrated knife set which has been doing well for the past 7 years but fancied something more precise for the home cook

Perhaps I would then have known these are most probably made in China like all the cheap knives I can buy from Target ...
I wish the NSA had hacked Sheffield's email instead of 10 Downing. Perhaps I would then have known these are most probably made in China like all the cheap knives I can buy from Target or IKEA. One of the most important knives is serrated. A sign of cheaply made knives - or bread knives. I will keep these until I can replace them with better ones. If it isn't FULLY described, you may not want to buy it.
