Good Scooter
I've never owned an electric scooter before. We were looking at some for our 9 year old daughter when I thought it might be fun to have my wife and I join her and make it a family thing.I bought my daughter a different brand and when looking for ours I was nervous tbh. I already soooo many reviews on a bunch of different scooters. I found myself on Reddit asking for advice when I noticed a trend ... Most everyone was saying this was the best scooter for the cost.I was hesitant to pull the trigger but decided while on sale let's give it a shot. I ordered two one for myself and one for my wife. They say in my closet for about a month and the entire time I kept coming back reading reviews wondering if I would have charging issues or battery issues etc.On Xmas eve we popped them open and to my relief they charged just fine (quicker then I thought they would) the app wasn't hard to use and when it was time to go out and use them....oh man what a blast. These were definitely worth the purchase. They are durable, the suspension was great, it picked up speed quick and maintained it well. Our neighbor also has a few inclines that I was a bit concerned about, but was able to hit almost top speed up the hill. For reference I'm 5'9 170 ibs and my wife is 5'3 120.

Awesome
You'll notice the charger is the only thing in the picture. That's because that is the only part of this purchase I ever see. My daughter is on it right now, hints the missing scooter! I bought two of these. One for my daughter(11) and one for me step daughter (13). They LOVE them! They are constantly on them, so I never see the scooter unless it needs to be charged! These scooters have cruise control, a headlight, and three speed modes allowing you to set a speed you don't want your kids to go over. You can pair it to the app on your phone, which allows you to track your scooter and lock it in case of theft. It's not super light, but it's not too heavy either. It's solid. Both kids have wrecked, one of which was spectacular, and the scooters barely scuffed. Kids fine, don't worry. Battery life all depends on the kind of riding you're doing. If you're going full out in an area with a lot of hills, you'll get about an hour and a half. Flat ground at more reserved speeds, about 3 hours. I am really impressed with this scooter. 10/10 recommend if you are looking for an electric scooter for kids, or even for adults as a recreational item.

I'm confident this was the right choice at this price
This is a significant upgrade from a similarly priced product, from a certain "formerly American" brand. The full suspension and air tires make it a very smooth ride even over significant bumps. It's plenty fast enough for commuting and errands, and has enough range for me to comfortably take out. It is a tad heavy, but it has a great loop for a bike lock.

Pass on this for a real scooter
App is absolute garbage. Everything was great since christmas until a week ago when I decided to jump on the app and increase the speed. OH NO now im locked out of my damn scooter because whatever app needs my proof of purchase and crap. I emailed my details in, get a response asking FOR MORE DIFFERENT DETAILS and then days go by and i get an email saying they received my details and will be back within 3 to 5 business days. TO UPDATE THE SPEED SETTING!!. So this whole process took a week just to get this stupid scooter off 3mph which i had it set at for the winter in house riding. Absolutely 100 percent would have thrown this through their window if it wasnt against the law and i lived close. Go buy a different 300 dollar scooter.

Great product!
For the price, this thing can't be beat. I can easily get about 12 miles at top speed (17 mph) before needing to recharge. It could probably go farther at a lower speed. It's a little heavy, but it's nice that it folds for easy carrying and storage. It climbs hills and the suspension is smooth on roads. The built-in headlight is plenty bright, as is the taillight. Brakes work well, but I rarely need to use them because the regenerative braking (when you release the throttle) typically slows me well enough.Ultimately a great ride for the casual user!

Good entry level scooter
This is a great entry level scooter for anyone who has never rode on an electric scooter before. This is my first scooter myself and so far I love it, it goes up to 17 mph and then says you can get up to 18 miles in range but I don’t get anything close to that, with a full battery I can only ride about 5 miles and the. I’m only left with 2 small lil bars on the battery. I only weigh about 165 too and I ride on smooth flat roads too. I use it to run errands to the store and to go get food and just to cruise around and explore when I’m bored. The scooters light weight enough for me to fold up and carrry onto public transportation aswell. I just wish the battery was bigger so i could get better and longer range distances. Also I don’t like the fact it’s has inner tubes instead of the tubeless puncture resistant tires most electric scooters come with now. I’ve already had a rear flat and I ended up just patching the tube because I couldn’t find any 9.5x2.3 inner tubes but after taking the tube out of the tire I came to find out it’s just a 8.5x2 tube which are pretty easy to find. It wasn’t easy putting the tube and tire back on because I didn’t disconnect the rear motor from the battery so it was a lil tricky to do without damaging the rear motor wire that goes to the battery. Niu wants you to ship the scooter to them just to change the rear tire and tube or take the scooter to a reputable scooter repair place or you will void the warranty. Another problem I been having is I can’t get this scooter to record my mileage and I’ve done everything they suggested when I contacted Niu, I was able to bind the scooter to my phone but it just won’t record any mileage or any of my trips. Other than my dislike for the lack of mileage I get, the inner tubes and that I can’t record my trips to even see how many miles I have put on my scooter this is a pretty decent scooter for entry level riders.
