METABO RETURNS BACK TO ITS HAYDAY!
I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF METABO POWER TOOLS SINCE THE EARLY 70'S, AND ALEAYS BEEN PLEASED WITH THERE RELIABILITY, TYPICAL GERMAN BUILD QUALTY AND PRECISION AS A PREMIUM PRODUCT. THEN THE LURE OF CHEAP CHINESE LABOUR COSTS PROVED TOO MUCH FOR METABO AND THEY JOINED THE CROWD OF OTHER MAKERS, SHIPPED PRODUCTION TO THE FAR EAST, WITH ITS PROMISE OF EXTRA ON THE PROFIT BOTTOM LINE, THIS CHEAP PRODUCTION WHILST STILL PREMIUM PRICING PROMPTED ME TO LOOK ELSEWHERE SINCE ,THIS TIME OF DEFECTION, TO FESTOOL, FLEX, AND MAFELL. THIS PAINT STRIPPER WAS SO WELL RECEIVED FUNCTIONAL AND RELEVANT TO MY NEEDS, AND GOOD VALUE I TOOK THE PLUNGE AND BOUGHT MY FIRST METABO TOOL IN DECADES. MUCH TO MY DELIGHT IT SAYS " MADE IN GERMANY" AND THE MUCH MISSED QUALITY, BUILD, AND RUGGEDNESS IS STILL EVIDENT, IT PERFORMS FAULTLESSLY, FILLING A FUNCTION OF PREPPING TIMBER THOROUGHLY BEFORE REPAINTING, WITH EASE AND RESERVES OF POWER. I HOPPE THIS IS AN OMEN FOR FURTHER REPATRIATION OF THE BRAND .
