A super food
I have experimented with my diet for many Years, read quote a few dozen books on the subject. One book called 'how not to die' , focused on a plant based diet, a bit too restrictive for me. But these beans mixes in with tinned sardines with olive oil, some spring onion, maybe a few capers, a bit of lemon, is simply delicious. It genuinely feels healthy to eat. Surprisingly unlike baked beans, there is no wind, so that's a bonus! But seriously if you need a simple meal once or twice a week, this is a great base for a meal.Of course, in my humble opinion.

Full of beans, but a bit corny
This five-bean salad blew me away. At least it did the day after I ate it. I've been looking for five bean-salad for several years, and was delighted to find this: four-bean salad seemed mean and churlish, yet six-bean salad was just…greedy. To find a tin can containing just five types of bean was a revelation. Five after all is the ancient number of harmony—it’s no surprise that 5ive, The Jackson 5, and the Beatles were pop quintets. It’s not all cool beans though – nestling amongst the succulent, shiny, starchy legumes is SWEETCORN, which is a *grass*. Not gross – grass. Grasses are not even close in an evolutionary sense to beans. Grasses are like some weird second-cousin with a respiratory illness who gives you a limp, damp handshake; beans are like your favourite uncle in an embroidered waistcoat, who slaps you on the back and gives you two-bob to spend on toffees. So, stuffing them all together in the same can seems a bit perverse. Let beans be beans is what I say. What if you had five dogs and one cat, and stuck them all in a shed together. Not so clever now, is it? Even if the spiders looking down from the crannies don’t get it, that’s because they are arachnids and can’t empathise with mammals. And what about frogs? Frogs and geckoes? It’s not natural, so don’t do it. It’s not fair on any of the vegetables involved. So—one star for each of the legumes, minus one for the unnecessary addition of grass, in what is advertised as a bean salad.

Great value and a really tasty
This has become something of a favourite in your house. They can be eaten cold, straight from the tin, or heated up and served on toast, pitta bread or with a salad.Great value and a really tasty and with a pretty fair calorie count at 124 cals per serving (100 g).
