Great item and service very happy

This item is really handy and immensely speeds up the restringing process - I wouldn't want to be without it.Having said that:-I would award it five stars, but the quality seems to let it down. It reminds me of a child's toy drill bought from a pound shop - very cheap, plastic-y feel.Having said that, it hasn't let me down yet, it is just a shame that I don't think it will last...

Makes changing strings simpleGreat little tool

If, like me, you love the full harmonically rich 'piano-y' sound of a freshly strung low E going into a clean valve amp on the edge of breakup, you're gonna want this.I have sweaty hands (too much coffee) so my strings get dull and lifeless quite quickly.String changes are a necessary regular chore for me.Got this in the mail last night.Did a string change no problem, straight out of the box.Cut your string change time/effort by 2/3rds!What's not to like? Just get one.

I have never bought anything so patently rubbish in the UK. It really speaks volumes for the American approach to consumer rights - buyer beware.I tried this out with brand new batteries on a fairly new guitar with tuning pegs that were quite free to rotate. The rotation from this machine was feeble and hesitant and started to fade before I had unwound 4 strings. It got slower and slower and was clearly running out of battery power so I continued with a hand cranking peg winder.It is badly designed and I cannot imagine that any product evaluation took place prior to full scale manufacture.After loading a fresh set of batteries, the battery compartment clasp would not work - indicating that the plastic used for the cover had poor elasticitity.Astonishingly poor quality. I would not pay 23 p for it. I have wasted 23 pounds. Rubbish. Garbage. Cr*p. P00P. Awful. 5 notstars!(I had to give it a star as the Amazon review algorithm would not let me out - but it is a hollow meaningless unworthy star that has no more appeal than a dead puppy lying beside the road).A month later, I decided to try it one more time before throwing it away. It worked very well. I managed to destring a guitar in seconds without the motor slowing or stalling. I can only think that there must have been some kind of contamination or poor fit in the transmission. It now seems much better. However, I still cannot close the catch and the hatch is now held down with bodge tape. I have upgraded the star score to 3 for average. However, it is still not the greatest buying experience. A better solution would be a cup attachment to put into an electric screwdriver.

Great solution for a first world problem… C’mon what’s the hardship in turning a tuning peg? Lovely piece of kit but I felt guilty as sin/ bit stupid having just bought it… did I NEED it? No. Has it changed ANY thing? No. Why then? ‘cause you can (I am the Ernie Ball marketing man’s dream)!

String changing on a slotted headstock guitar became significantly easier than with manual winder. Product looks a little flimsy so will be interested to see how long it lasts

awful product. you think for a cheapplastic shell and a smallmotor they would make sure the battery clip fits .. but alas the battery case flipsopen allthe time.weirdly too the direction of the tighten and loosen direction seems to flip arbitrarily, so watch out.
