Good value for money
I purchased this as a Medical Student in preparation for Neurology OSCE exam stations. This seems sturdy enough and has been a very helpful tool in my revision. If you are considering purchasing one for exam practice, I would really recommend as it definitely helps technique.

Very good tendon hammer for the right price.
After 2 months of using this tendon hammer I can give my honest review. The price is quite cheap but despite that it is a very good quality hammer! It cames in 2 pieces easly to assemble, the body it's made of thick plastic, very robust but also flexible, allowing a good swing to hit the tendon properly. Also it got a sharpish extremity that I use for "sharp and dull" test or sensory discrimination, very handy. The head has a centre made of metal that give a good weight for the swinging and the borders are made of rubber, to sensible reduce the hit on the patient skin. Very good purchese!

Does the job
The handle is a bit thinner and lighter than the ones I use in the ED or when teaching but seems robust enough.

Flimsy and tiny
I’m a UK neurologist and have gone through a lot of tendon hammers.I am on a mission to find decent ones and this is not one of them. It’s really thin, the head is small and I’m sure it won’t last a week of NHS work. It’s quite expensive given the dreadful quality.Buy this if you don’t care whether you do a good exam or not.I bought it so you don’t have to.

Cheap, good for temporary use
Cheap and functional for use as med student. However, to assemble, the head needs to be screwed on to the arm, and this doesn't stay completely tight. I think that could be useful for travel, but I've found it more annoying than helpful. Also, the plastic of the arm is more flexible than is ideal for a tendon hammer, and the head is smaller/not as weighty. On neuro placements, this has been commented on by seniors and doctors. If looking for a cheap option for med school, this will work. However, for longer term use beyond med school, and investment, recommend getting a sturdier one in same style.

excellent
I'm actually very pleased with this tendon hammer and a few colleagues said it's very good. It has been mentioned that the plastic is rather bendy-but this is exactly what you want in a good tendon hammer to get the necessary swing! The rubber is firm but also soft, so won't hurt the patient or your fingers. Metal part is cool to use for sensation testing. The pointy bit wasn't exactly smooth, so I sandpapered it a bit, but perfect now.

Perfect OSCE practice for a medical student
Good tendon hammer which is essential for practising knee, ankle and suppinator reflexes amongst others. The reflexes are an essential part of a neurology examination which is often tested in osces. The reflexes are the most common area where students lose marks and I know it is area in which I had some difficulty. This hammer helped me master all reflexes. They have the exact same hammers in my local hospital ward.
