Continuum Games Around the Table Family Talk Meaningful Conversation Starters and Car Travel Game

I was looking for a game or conversation starters to have with my adult children. This deck really missed the mark and is better suited to a family with school age children “What would you do if someone offered you cigarettes?” “”What is your favorite hymn at church?” It’s not that I was looking for anything racy, but would have appreciated something a bit more thought provoking.

With some sibling rivalry and tension going on in our home we decided to give this a try to see if dinnertime could become nice family time. Well.... it worked!!! These are amazing. The conversations that we get going are sometimes hilarious and sometimes serious. But the kids are totally into this and it’s a staple at our dinner table!!!

With the exception of our teenager, our kids loved the idea of these cards. I'd say the best age range for these is the 7-12 year range, but younger kids can answer some of the questions. Some of the cards were a little more uncomfortable than we wanted to discuss at dinner ("Who in your family has the hardest time saying 'I Love You"') and some just didn't lead to much discussion ("Is it OK to pet a service dog"). For the price, I'd like to see more questions. We got through these in just a couple weeks.

At least twice a question is basically repeated. "How do you react when someone is upset/angry with you?" too similar to "How does it make you feel when someone is angry with you?" Also "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and "When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?"

I bought this product for conversation ideas for dinner time with my mom. I am also an adult. I had read the reviews and picked this one out intentionally, partially because of the price, but also because it seemed really good from the reviews. Well, I thought some of the questions were dumb. For example, one of the questions was something like, "Why might someone use a guide dog? When is it okay to pet a guide dog?" I was like, "Really? This is not the kind of thing I was expecting for good, deep family conversation." Some of the questions are deeper, like "What is causing you anxiety right now in school, work and home?" Some of them are just kind of interesting, like, "What was your favorite meal your grandparents cooked for you?" I was disappointed with some of the questions. I do enjoy, however, that it helps to start more meaningful conversations if you don't know what to talk about but still want to engage. They are just not all the type of questions I was hoping for.
