Solved my problem
There was no easy way to hook my computer up to wifi this solved my problem.

the worst thing i've ever tried to use
this is the most insanely useless thing i've ever purchased. it is like it was designed in the 80s before we had wireless technology. when you buy it, you think "oh its a USB great, it is plug and play" but NO you have to install the software. you're probably thinking it has a CD or something, right? also no. you have to have an internet connection in order to install the drivers from netgear's website in order to have a wireless internet connection. after trying this on multiple computers running both windows 10 and windows 8 along with multiple download packages, not even the installation wizards work. this belongs in the trash

Decent, But Not Great
If you want something that doesn't hold great signals, then this adapter will do the job. But if you want something a bit stronger, go with something else. 3 stars for being decent. Not 5 because it isn't great.

Unmitigated POS
This thing connects and disconnects seemingly at random. It will just stop registering as a connected USB device, also at random. Unplugging and re-inserting the device does not fix anything; restarting the computer works maybe one out of five times. Transfer speeds are noticeably slow when it is working. Tech support and various forums are filled with users sharing the same complaints.Per tech support, I installed the latest driver package from NetGear, and the "standalone" option includes this Genie software which frequently locks up my computer, using nearly 100% of my CPU for some reason. This "fix" did not fix anything.You could probably not find a worse option for a wireless USB adapter, especially considering the price. You can get one for cheaper (the replacement I bought was $10) and anything else will easily outperform this device and at least attempt to be reliable.

Terrible
This thing blows. I got this from walmart a few months ago and it is so annoying. It constantly disconnects from the wifi meaning that if you work from home it won't be stable. PLEASE SAVE THE TROUBLE AND GET A MORE UPDATED ONE OR A COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT BRAND!

Does what it needs to do
Use these on older laptops, work great. Only problem was installation of driver software that can 100% cpu, but i fixed that somehow by tinkering wnd maybe removing the software from netgear. Im on windows 7 still. I used latest driver. Anyway still very pleased with this product, i have purchased lots, either one or none have ever died on me in many years of use

Inutile dans mon cas…
Pour mon cas, problème avec mon fournisseur internet. Je cherche à faire un partage de connection avec mon portable, je me rend compte que ma carte wifi est hs. Je me tourne donc vers l’achat de cette clé, mais impossible de la faire marcher, pas reconnu, pas de cd ou autre support pour les drivers… il faut les télécharger sur leur site! Super quand on a pas de connections et que justement on achète leur produit pour en avoir une…

Pas d'explication pour l'installation. N'amplifie pas le wifi principal, mais m'a créé un wifi 2.

Treiber muss von der Website geladen werden
Grundsätzlich erfüllt der Stick seinen Zweck...ABER... wenn ich mir einen WLAN Stick hole, bedeutet es das ich wahrscheinlich ins Internet möchte und es derzeit nicht kann. Also ist es unschön das ich erst den Treiber runterladen muss um ihn zu nutzen. Wenn man dieses Hindernis umschifft hat tut er aber was er soll.
