Q: Dimensions length by width by height?

The dimensions given for the small box are maximum overall external dimensions, and include the small feet ridges, and hinge stiffeners on the back. Internally, they are about 4.7" wide at the bottom (slightly wider at top), 4.75" front to back (4.58" in the center where the clasp recess is). I can't measure the inside height with lid closed directly, but it appears to be minimum ~1.7". It would be more helpful if the vendor would supply inside dimensions as well.

Q: How are the hinges made? If they break apart can they be reconnected? If so, do they warp with use?

Hi. I have two dozen of these and use probably half of them daily. I haven't had any issues at all - no warping/breaking/etc. The hinges are part of the box itself, so they can't be replaced if they break. If you have a "The Container Store" in your area, they sell these individually in the home office section as picture/photo cases for 2.99 each, so you could easily replace one if necessary. Hope this helps.

Yes, it is plenty big enough to hold a deck of playing cards but it won't be a snug fit, expect the cards to move around in the box.
