The manufacturer's YouTube video of course makes it look easy peasy to use, but "life is not Hollywood, life is Cricklewood" as comedian Eric Morecambe said. As far as I've worked out, it only does one type of stitch. Very basic look. I produced the same decades ago as a child beginner...in hospital so I wasn't feeling well...sewing drawings with holes made in cards brought round by volunteers.As regards ease of use, the kit effectively adds a layer of difficulty between you and sewing the pattern. You can't turn it in your hands. At least one reviewer says it misses stitches; I've not had that, but the stitches are often not consistent, thus wanting to be able to turn it in my hands to correct it as you need to do that as you go. I'd "finish off" the sewn pattern using actual sewing stitches for a secure hold. Overall, not good value for money.Takes a little while to set up, so that needs to be factored in.The small frame limits the size of your project. You'll probably wish for a larger frame at some stage.The sewing element seems to be a compromise on a "tapestry frame" or "embroidery hoop" so I'd recommend those tools instead for better quality results (wide choice on Amazon), more consistent quality, and potential for more intricacy.Parts could do with being made better/stronger, and you'd probably find these extra tools helpful: thread ripper, and to define holes better or to add extra (to go around an error) a size 18+ sewing needle/"fine awl"/papercrafter's "pokey tool"/cook's stainless steel "sugar stirrer with ball" (available on Amazon).This is one of those times when old-fashioned methods work best e.g. a "paper perforator" or tracing paper and manual hole-making to create the holes-pattern, and then to execute it the "tapestry frame"/"embroidery hoop" mentioned above. I bought it as it seemed nicely gadgety, and I regret it.Also, the merchant's video is for the manufacturer's make of electric sewing machine, which you don't need for this kit.
