I bought this for my sons 2nd birthday in size 2-3 a year ago and it's only just fits him perfectly at age 3 but I wouldn't change it as it was fine when a bit big

Q: Would this be huge on a taller than average 1 year old?

Probably a little too big. Just right on my 2 year old grandson.
