NO, it's not BPA free. The lid (bowl) section is made out of the BioCleanAct plastic material. The problem is with the clear bottle section which is made out of polycarbonate, and BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. The bottom of the bottle does not have any marking for the recycling number nor does it say BPA-Free.

Q: If I use Fiji bottled water do I have to use the filter?

The filter is for when you put water, that was dispensed from the bottle, back into the bottle. It filters out anything the dog may have deposited into the basin while drinking.

Q: How do you install the filter system in the bottle cap? I feel I’m missing a piece. There is no way to place the filter in the cap

You should have received a little plastic insert that fits between the bottom and the screw on top - you can see the drop down piece of it in the photo - that holds the filter from dropping into the water. When you press the button the water flows through the filter into the bowl part.

Q: Water seal ring is horrible. How do I get a replacement ring?

It’s sensitive to how you tighten the dispenser. No parts are available for it. I tried to get another charcoal filter and they don’t sell parts.
