Works far better than most

This brake flaring tool works far better and easier than other high rated devices that I tried. Every single flare came out perfectly even on steel. Both inverted and bubble flares were easy to complete. Highly recommended.

Easy, quick, and effective

Easy, quick, and effective. I had to double flare a rear brake line that was still attatched to my truck and in a tight space that the old wing nut style wouldn't fit into so I gave this one a shot. Laying on my back under my truck, in the driveway, in a tight spot up against the frame with about 3.5 inches of line to work with, this tool did a perfect, easy, double flare. Well worth the money spent. Highly recommend.

Great tool and easy to use.

Have formed over 6 lines with double flared ends and have had no problems. Just cinch down line after getting it aligned with their tools and follow their instructions. This works great. just remember to add the lube so ends have easy time forming. Also dont be a Gorilla, just cinch tight. You know when its firm and you don't have to scrunch it more. I have used in vice without handle and with handle alone and both formed the fittings well.

High Quality and It Works.

I tried a $30 tool and it did not work. The above flaring tool is the best tool that I have used for flaring brake lines. The "vice" for holding the tubing uses 10mm bolts to compress the fitting. There is no movement of the tubing when the bolts are tightened. Fittings to flare the tubing are strong, solid steel. My first try using this tool was successful. My subsequent flarings were successful with no leaks, More tubes will need to be flared to fix other tools flares. Need to have a tube cutter, a 10 mm wrench and a 17 mm wrench to use the tool. My kit did not have these items. This is the best flaring tool i have used.

Simply the best.

The best I’ve ever used. Working with plastic coated steel lines are never fun but this tool worked perfectly. The handle is removable for them really tight areas, grips so tight without marking the line all up, flares perfectly every time.I am comparing it to my 20 year old tool that kept slipping or the double flare looked more like a single, then I purchased a new kit from amazon similar tool as my old but also didn’t work, purchased this and done.Just a tip I used a blow torch and Brillo pad to remove the coating from the line in seconds 👍 I used to scrape and sand them down this way was a lot faster, not to mention cleaner.

Tricky to double flare Nickle Copper brake lines!

The media could not be loaded. This Capri Tools CP21110-316 Double Flaring Tool works great when making SAE double inverted flares on Steel lines but has an issue double flaring NiCopp (Nickle-10%/Copper-90%) 3/16" tubing/lines.I spent 6ft of NiCopp trying to perfect the flares with this tool doing 3" straps at a time before I cut my actual Jeep lines. The instructions work for Steel but don't work for NiCopp. I'm not the only one with this problem. What I noticed is that putting the line flush against the stopper bolt like instructions state makes the punch die twist the flare causing deformities that look like it's lopsided on one part of the side of flare. That's not acceptable in my book. Now it is soft NiCopp and may crush into place if tightened several times in the hose/ABS fitting/connection. But I'd rather make an acceptable flare that's uniform all the way around. And I did, after days of trial and error I found backing off the NiCopp tubing about 2-2.5mm from the stopper bolt then tightening down until there was great resistance on 10mm bolts, created almost perfect flares that are more than acceptable in your vehicle.I included a picture with the gap, it's about the same size as the line marker on see through hold on the tool.. so make sure its gapped if you are using this tool for Nickle Copper brake lines to make SAE Double Flares. One picture shows the perfect Flare, and the video shows the wonky flares I got while following instructions.Tips:• Use punch grease and don't just use a tiny bit on tip of die, get a little on whole mating area.• I tightened until it bottomed and was flush with Tool on both dies. I do hear some Tools require stopping once there is strong resistance when using NiCopp.• clean off dies before every use so you don't get dirty and obstructions between punch and line.• you must debur and chamfer line before Flaring. Use a countersink to debur the inside rim of tubing of all sharp points. Then use a fine file to flaten the end of all lips and sharp points them chamfer outside, you are only trying to remove sharp areas, make it smooth.• when you chamfer & file and debur your line you want to hold it down so gravity keeps shavings out of the line. You don't want shaving in high pressure lines that have 1000-2000psiGreat tool, well made definitely purchase, you can get high quality flares of nearly all kinds of alloys. This problem is not restricted to this Capri Tools CP21110-316 Double Flaring Tool, it also happens on the Titan 51535, the Lisle and the Eastwood hand Flaring tools, they are all built the same exact way. It's all to do with the type of metal and its strength and possibly a slight difference in quality control. There are overwhelming good reviews of this Tool of all brands on Amazon, Ebay, Home Depot, Lowes, and other sites.I'm giving it 4 stars because it is not working following directions but it is a great tool.

Highly recommend

Excellent flaring tool!!! This far exceeds expectations compared to any other flaring tool that I have tried aside from super expensive ones. I love that the handle is removable allowing the flaring plates to be mounted in a vise, which is really the best way to use this thing. Double flares were excellent every time.I can’t say how easy/difficult it would be to use without a vise and only using the handle but the handle does appear well made with a comfortable grip. Keep in mind this only handles one size of tubing 3/16 but if you’re just making brake lines for a project car, this is perfect without breaking the bank.Don’t waste your time with those cheap, multi-size flaring kits, you’ll end up with a lot of wasted tubing and a whole lot of wasted time, do it right the first time, I wish I had but so glad I gave this one a shot, worth every dollar!
