Laken Spanish Leather Wine Bota Water Canteen

Made it a month. Used them daily at work. Great product until the leak. Update: my second one did the same. Filled them with h2o. Split and leaked on the bottom. Done.

My bag has several issues.The plastic spout/cap feels flimsy, and mine arrived with a split on the sleeve around where the bag meets the spout.It leaks. I had it on it's side overnight, with water in it. In the morning I noticed there was a dark gradient where the leather had gotten wet around the neck. It doesn't drip, but there must be a tiny pinhole leak where the spout is attached.The inside of the bag smells funky and adds a bad taste to your liquids (just water for me). I rinsed it with hot, mildly soapy water a few times and let it air out for a week. Still smells and tastes bad.The strap is too small for a large man. It was like a necklace to me. Not a huge deal.All-in-all, it is basically functional despite all of these things, but I find myself not really wanting to use it because of the flaws.

Wow - I wish there were more stars to give! This is the 2Ltr size, and it is not overly large and clumsy. The quality is absolutely incredible, and it actually surprised me. Very well made, high quality leather, a lot of thought went into the design of this product. The strap is loose and there are leather loops that keep it in place, but you have the freedom to slide it back and forth in the loop. The fill nozzle feels secure and is good quality, the drink spout is attached with a cord o you don't lose it. I definitely am ordering a 2nd one. Could not be happier with this product.

I've Had it for almost a week now, 4 days ago I filled it 3/4 full of water and hung it up, 2 days ago I switched it to hanging upside down...No leaks! It does have a slight plasticy smell, but I believe with a few rinsings it'll go away.

Love it, I purchased the 2 L size ,fits a larger 1.5 l bottle wine perfect ,as For smell as some have mentioned I rinsed mine with Hot water several times then let set over night ,repeated and I can say no plastic liner taste or smell,It was filled with a wine taken to a few football tailgates and a couple outdoor gatherings so far this Winter works very well and makes conversation especially with everyone that have never experienced a Bota .

Had it for almost a year. Needed washing to remove the smell from the inside, otherwise no initial problems. Took on a camping trip in freezing temperatures where the water froze on the inside and continued to work fine for a while and a few more trips after that. However, after a few months it started leaking at the tip, and was solved by removing the cover under the caps and binding that tighter with string and a little tape. Worked fine for a while after that, until one day started leaking for unknown reasons, but cannot be fixed.Overall a good product, but after some wear it seemed to quit on me.

This product has been wonderful. I bought it as a present for my husband he had a few leather bota wine bags before but lost them while moving and who knows how else :) it arrived early, which was great because we had planned to raft a river a day after it arrived. we took it on the trip and it did the job! It looks just like the picture and the strap works great and for us it is a good length (we are kinda short). Super happy with this bota wine bag. and serriously it hold SO MUCH WINE!! I would buy it again if we lose it somehow. We never had an issue with it tasting like a plastic bag. i highly recommend it. (just make sure to rinse it out after use, leave the lid off and air dry upside down so it doesnt get gross)

I needed a bota bag for a progressive camping trip that I took in rural Mongolia a few weeks ago. The bota bag was the perfect option, and recommended by the guide to carry water during the day. I purchased these based on the reviews posted. To be fair, they are a perfect size, and worked very well. Unfortunately, they weren't terribly durable. And by the end of the 10-day trip, they were both leaking. I would recommend these for gentle, occasional use. If you need something more rugged, I would look into other options.
