How well it works depends upon the marker
I love my Sherpas, but even using SHARPIE markers how well they work depends upon the marker color.I have several. When I use a black marker they work well. When I use Dryerase markers they work well. However, when using Silver Metallic markers (we use them to write on blue painters tape) the markers dry out quickly even though only used sporadically during the shift) Very disappointing... although I will continue to use them where they do work well.Update: the webpage shows a compatibility table for various markers. It seems that it isn't always the markers that are not manufactured to spec, but it appears that sometimes at least it's the tolerance in the nosepiece of the Sherpa. I've found that the same marker will fit 3 out of 4 of my Sherpas but not work in the 4th and not always the same ones for some reason. I think I remember seeing replacement nosepieces available, I'm going to purchase a few to check it out further. The hilighters from item 27145 do NOT fit, but the ones from item 24415 DO by the way

Itโs exactly what I wanted!
I came across these on a lecture video by a magician named Nicholas Einhorn, and I had to have one. My girlfriend got a huge kick out of it when I showed her this, saying, โWho ever looked at a sharpie and thought โthis really needs a coat?โโ Well, ten minutes after bashing the pointlessness of it, she wanted one too.I bought it hoping to house a particular pen that unfortunately didnโt fit, but I figured out a hack. I took the barrel part off the pen leaving just the cartridge and the writing end. This then made it too short for the Sherpa, but I adjusted for that with some wadded tin foil as a shim. Works perfectly!

Elegant, inexpensive pen case
I first saw this used by a magician in a tux. It fit so much better with a signed card routine than the typical, mundane Sharpie left exposed. Some people might not care or think that it matters, but magic is a visual, performance art, and tools used in that performance are like props and set dressing. It'd be like watching Cirque du Soleil with an performer wearing a Under Armor or a Nike top with a swoosh on it.You can place other types of pens in it, but the Sharpie fits great and doesn't dry out. It's definitely a vanity item, but a cool one. It can rest next to a Montblanc and not look totally out of place. It's about Meisterstuck 149 size. Well built.

Sherpa, the dressed up Sharpie
I sign most documents with a blue sharpie so it's obvious which ones are the originals. My only issue was the grey plastic sharpie, although a great marker, looks cheap. While searching for blue refills for the stainless steel sharpie I found the Sherpa and ordered it immediately. It totally solves my problem and I don't have to wait for sharpie to release other color refills for the stainless model. Thanks Sherpa!

Love the Sherpa
Love it. I buy the Uni-Ball Vision Elite (and have for years) in bulk and they fit the Sherpa perfectly. I just ordered another one.
