I've since made several tagines in my tagine and it's wonderful! I'm so glad I took a cooking class ...
I ordered this tagine and the base arrived with a chip. I contacted Treasures of Morocco and they made the exchange simple and effortless. I've since made several tagines in my tagine and it's wonderful! I'm so glad I took a cooking class in Marrakech so I know the right way to do everything. Clean up was fast and easy by hand. I don't trust the dishwasher. It's also exciting to have a company in Florida that sells authentic Moroccan products and doesn't jack up the prices with free shipping too. I love my tagine and Treasures of Morocco too!

Just like Marrakech!
This is a legit Moroccan Tagine. There are some very minor imperfections in the painted top-but just makes it more authentic! We just came back from an amazing 2 week vacation that included 2 cooking classes( one in Fez and the other in Marrakech). I did take the additional seasoning step of a light oiling(the bottom) and baking in a 275F oven prior to use. (The seller did tell me this was unnecessary but ok to do) That is a solid metal diffuser on the gas cooktop. I was very careful to raise the heat slowly to brown the meat. They were way more aggressive about that in our classes-but I didn’t want to crack it!! I just left on stove until next day to clean. Perfect size for Lamb and Date Tagine for Two!! Looking forward to trying fish next week!

The photograph is not the tagine I bought. The one I bought is unglazed, which is what I prefer because unglazed clay absorb
The one I bought is unglazed, which is what I prefer because unglazed clay absorbs the flavors, and with time it "gives back" and enriches the flavor of each successive tagine. The one I bought (to replace a treasured hand-built tagine) will do that in time, but my dissappointment comes from the fact that the interior lip that the lid sits on is set so low it seriously limits the capacity of this tagine when compared to others of like diameter. I mistakenly assumed the diameter determined a tagine's capacity, but diameter is NOT the sole determinant, so don't repeat my error. If my kitchen had unlimited storage, this would be fine for a meal for two, but it won't deliver dinner fo four! But this one is nicely vented and has a nice deep hollow "knob" on top of the lid that allows me to fill it with water during the long-slow cooking process to maximize interior condensation and promote flavor development of the sauce. If you are into truly traditional tagines (stews), this tagine (cooking vessel) delivers! If I'd been smart enough to buy this sized tagine that has greater capacity, I would have given it five stars.

Fabulous gift
I gave this tagine as a gift to a friend of mine who loves to cook and experiment with recipes from different ethnic cuisines. She loves it. The first one that arrives was broken [these tagines are quite fragile]. The seller couldn't have been more gracious about replacing it. They get an A++ from me.

This tajine is exactly like the one I wanted to buy in Morocco in ...
This tajine is exactly like the one I wanted to buy in Morocco in Sep 2014 but didn't want the weight in my luggage nor worry about it breaking by luggage handlers. I did the curing and have cooked on it once using the beef as the base meat. They use a lot of beef in Morocco because they have so much range land. The meal was delicious. I was able to purchase Ras el Hanout at a local gourmet supermarket in San Antonio plus added some more spices I had in my cabinet that recipes for tajine cooking recommended.

I was looking for a working Tagine
An un glazed unit that works well on a stove top is what I was looking for. Although there was no spec stating glazed or unglazed, the detailed instructions on how to season an unglazed tanginess drew me in.

A gift to me. Love it!!!
This Tagine is perfect for my husband n myself with left overs. Just by looking at it It can easily cook a meal for 4 no more. I love the design n that it is completely glazed inside n out. I will take special care of it since it is made of clay n b cause it is 1 of a kind. No 2 r alike. This is why they r truly unique. I will definitely recommend.
