KidKraft Wooden Poseable Doll Family of 7 - African American, Gift for Ages 3+

We have the doll family pictured and love them so much. My 2 year old granddaughter's favorites are Grandpa and Baby. This is one of only a few brands which have a 7 member set that includes grandparents and a baby.Be aware, however, that a truer picture of the set - "variation" - you may receive, while AA, will look more like the picture for the Doll Family of 7 Caucasians, because that is the clothing set they may have, and because of many differences in the paint and shape of the dolls. The clothing difference is easy to see. The shape difference is not. I have seen them both together though and saw that the "variation" is much cruder in features and the baby has a much clunkier shape and inappropriately longer arms.To me, they were not at all as appealing. To me the clothing was not as lovely on almost every doll and mama Afro-American doll not as identifiable as a mom because her hair was very short plus no skirt.The company which originates these sets told me that they were unavailable for a long time, but they finally got them back. My guess is that they found a company to copy the old style ones but they didn't have the same good taste as the original producer.I ordered the family in the photo twice, (the older family) and was sent the newer family, not pictured, twice, even though I'd made it clear I wanted the one in the photo. I gave feedback twice about the inaccurate picture, and got back messages twice saying We've determined that we don't have to change the photo.Then the item page had a message saying There's a problem, we're temporarily not offering this item. This was changed to the page you now see, which says you may get a "variation".I just wanted you to know. It made a difference to me; to you, it may not.In order to get the set I wanted, I phoned around and found a large toy store with a branch in a nearby city which had ONE of the old style families left and sent it to my local shop for me. A bit more expensive than Amazon, but able to give more personal service: could check their stock and help me get the one I wanted!Amazon had a better price and tried to help; the customer service phone helpers in India tried their best, but apparently a huge company with multiple locations, can't give you the same service.

The media could not be loaded. I read all the reviews and saw it was mixed. I decided to take a chance because I wanted a black doll set. This set is so nice I will actually go ahead and buy other sets from the same maker if available. The doll house purchased is ROBUD Wooden Dollhouse for Kids... both items helped make my daughtets 4th very special

These are wonderful toys. They are the only dollhouse dolls on the market that easy to manipulate and will actually sit in chairs. They are well-made and sturdy. Recommend.

I love the look of the family as we wanted an ethnically diverse doll family for our two sons to play with. I will say that I was not entirely pleased with the quality as there were a lot of hot glue strings and the hair was haphazardly glued onto the grandfather. The hair strings also come out very easily for what is a children's toy. The grandmother on our set had a crack in her head and a dirt smudge on her hair, therefore, I contacted KidKraft about a replacement. They shipped out another grandmother free of charge however she was very different from the original and her skin color was a completely different shade of brown than the rest of the family. Her face style and clothing were also completely different than what is pictured. I ended up sticking with the original so that she matched the rest of the family. Otherwise, I am pleased with my purchase.

These dolls are well made and very nice. They're also packaged nicely. I have purchased other wooden dolls that seem much more cheaply made.

I would like to rave about the customer support of this company....they should receive 10 stars!!! When I opened the box, one of the doll’s faces was marked up noticeably. Instead of dealing with Amazon, I contacted KidKraft’s customer support through their email. They responded very quickly & asked for a couple of things. Within 2 days, I had a whole new set of dolls! I was only looking to replace one from the set! I think that kind of service is amazing!Besides all that, the dolls are so cute! I had bought one set of the Caucasian family and 1 set of the Black family so my grandkids would have diversity in their toys. They don’t even notice that but they love the people with their doll house!

These are pretty well made. I used these while working as a school counselor. These dolls were part of my doll house set and the kids seemed to prefer these to the older doll-house-sized dolls. Anyway, the only thing is that the grandma's foot came off after a while, but she got heavy use by the kids. I just glued it back on and that did the trick. The kids also got playdoh in the mom doll's hair, which was difficult to clean out, but that's no fault of the doll ;) haha.Also: The pants are glued on so can't be removed, the arms come out of the sleeves but the head does not come off, the grandma's apron can be removed.Its good to have representation of people of color, although I would hardly describe them as African American. They look far more Latino to me.

I bought six sets of these for a toddler day care setting. Arms and legs bend. Children enjoy make pretend play in doll houses and toy vehicles. Perfect for small hands. Clothes are not removable. These are best for children before they reach the age where they prefer “trendy marketed” dolls, etc. 2 1//2 - 3 year olds enjoy immensely. These children are past the age of putting things in their mouths. Perfect product for the value to me.

Clothing were good quality. Characters hair and faces expression were detailed finely. Kids had so much fun. Still holding up.

We are a free to access kids' club on the Henry Dickens Estate. We have a doll's block of flats to represent the way children live on their estate.It is important to also represent the different ethnicities of the families, so thank you for making these little people. The children play with them and take care of them, using them to play out and tell funny family stories.
